So you’re all set and ready to start the university application process. One of the most important things you need to know before you apply is your APS.

APS or Admission Point Score is the score that universities to use to see if you qualify for a specific course. That means that if say you want to study Engineering at a specific institution you will need to obtain a certain APS.

Each institution is different when it comes to an APS. It’s, therefore, very important to take note of what you’re applying for as well as the requirements.

Why is your APS Important?

Once you have settled on what you want to study, it’s time for the concrete work. At most institutions, you are assessed according to your admission point score (APS). This means that your matric marks (prelim and final marks) are assessed according to the specific course requirements at the institution. The percentages of your top six matric subjects are converted with a point system.
